2021 IN REVIEW ...

On a lighter note, I want to give an update on some of the highlights of our year (especially the last few months since our last communication).
  • Work was started on the roof at Rios orphanage – We had a wonderful morning of baptisms on top of the newly completed roof this week – Praise the Lord!! (Pictures below)
  • We bought a used car for our ministry here – it has been such a blessing!!
  • We had some amazing folks (and some family) come to visit throughout the year (we were so encouraged by each group that came).
  • House groups resumed in-person after the long Covid shutdown.
  • Our transition from TEAM Missions agency to Modern Day Missions.
  • VBS at the Border with our Texas Team resumed this summer and we saw many kiddos accept Christ! (covid shut down the trip last year).
  • We had an incredible blessing of an all-expense paid trip to Puerta Vallarta for a Marriage conference in October – we fellowshipped with some amazing missionary families from all over Latin America.
  • Our Mexico Resident Visas were approved for another 3 years (after which, in 2024, they will be permanent visas).
  • We hosted a surprise birthday party/engagement proposal for some very dear friends in our home, and then attended the wedding 4 months later.
  • We began attending a traditional church planted by other missionaries (we attended language school with them), on Sunday mornings called “Radiante” church.
  • Helped with an outreach in a nearby colonia where over 400 adults and children attended and heard the Gospel message.
  • Had our first in-person Christmas celebration with all the house groups together, since Covid (80 people came).

It has been a year of many blessings, some challenges, and a bit of sadness as well (losing parents and a dear team member) ... But God has been so faithful, as always, and we have learned to trust him more through it all.

GOD IS GOOD, ALL THE TIME ....

LOOKING AHEAD ...

What's in store for 2022?
Well, of course that's always up to the Lord and the leading of the Holy Spirit - please continue to pray that we receive clear guidance and open doors where ever he sends us.

- We have been helping and ministering to a young single mom and her 3 (almost 4 - baby due any day) children. Please pray for a safe delivery within the next 2 weeks and for her to find work after the baby is born. Her name is Teresa.

- We are praying that the Lord will continue to open up new groups in other parts of the city and in other homes, and raise up new leaders for these groups.

- Karla, the oldest girl currently at Rios will be leaving this week for a 6 month Discipleship Training School (DTS) at the Youth With A Mission (YWAM) facility in Ensenada, MX - near Tijuana. Please pray for Karla as she makes this move so far from home, and pray that she remains open and receives direction for all God has for her future.

- As the roof project comes to a close at Rios, and things get back in order from all the construction, we are praying about how we can continue to be involved on a regular basis - we had been teaching Bible and English classes pre-covid, and are deciding whether we are to resume the classes or assist there in some other form of ministry. The kiddos are very dear to us and are such a blessing to watch them grow.
